Elegance, simplicity, and easy to work with...

Pivot's hinges are alluring. Designed by woodworker and craftsman Carlos Queiroz, the hardware comes with unique features that set them apart from others of comparable function, style, size and finish.  Custom designs for architectural & decorative hardware offer creative control to the client for a look completely individualized. Driven by a desire to please, Pivot pushes the boundaries of high-end hardware to redefine functionality.

Innovative.

Carlos Queiroz apprenticed with European wood carving masters whom taught him the techniques and all the traditional forms of furniture making at a young age. In 1986, Carlos met two of New York’s top interior designers, Juan Montoya and Ruben de Saavedra, who recognized his talents and began working on projects with him. Rapidly, his reputation grew and professionals such as Karl Springer sought him to create additional accessories and furniture for New York showrooms. In 1998, Carlos began working with some of New York’s most renowned architects and interior decorators such as Parish Hadley, Robert Stern, and Sam Lopata.  In 2005, he expanded his designs to include unique pivot hinges that are now marketed by Pivot. His creativity and craftsmanship translated into various experiences revealing to him the true meaning of “high-end.”

“It has a lot of meaning, but really it’s simple. It is the best the product can be. I’ll change, I’ll adapt, I’ll be different, but the product will always be the best it can be.”

Artistic.
